摘　　要：Xinjiang is the region with the strongest potentiality in cotton producing in China, whose cotton production ranks first in the country. And cotton planting industry is one support industry of Xinjiang. The cotton planting industry of Xinjiang is facing both challenge and chance it has never faced before after joining WTO. To keep the continuous and stable development trend of the cotton planting industry of Xinjiang, some policies should be implemented to utilize advantages and avoid disadvantages and the development strategy of the cotton planting industry should be perfected.
